A Message from the President of the College

By John F. Byrne

As I reviewed the results of the recent survey conducted by Hal Gray that is detailed elsewhere in this issue, I was pleased to see that so many of you were eager to participate in CCA activities that enhanced learning opportunities among the Fellows. In furtherance of those goals, I am creating a monthly “Fellows’ Corner” on our website where any of you can submit articles, case notes, commentaries and the like for publication on the website.

You can submit what you would like to see published to our head of publications, Paul Dubow (pdubow2398@aol.com) and me (jfbyrne14@aol.com) for review and editing and we will make sure that it gets on the website. The idea is to have new content every month so all Fellows can see your work and, hopefully, can start a dialogue with the author and others that can likewise be posted on the website on a monthly basis. I would like to start this “Fellows Corner” on the website in September, before the annual meeting in Minneapolis, and urge those of you who are interested to submit your manuscripts and ideas to Paul and me promptly so we can revitalize our website. (By the way, if you haven’t updated your profile on the new website, please do so before the annual meeting.)

Speaking of the Annual Meeting, Rich Silberberg and his team put together a tremendous program of educational content along with plenty of time for all of you to interact and mingle in a relaxed atmosphere. I have been preaching “Fellowship” throughout my term as President and I am personally gratified that the incoming CCA administration will be continuing that tone.

While I will be making my “formal” farewells at the Board Meeting on October 12 in Minneapolis, this will likely be my last opportunity to address the entire CCA Fellowship as President. Let me end this message by thanking all of you for your kindness, camaraderie and support over the past year; it has been an honor and a privilege to serve the CCA as your President.
