Trained as a scientist and an attorney, Dr. Foster serves as mediator and arbitrator on the AAA, ICDR and CPR panels specializing in resolving intellectual property and technology related disputes.

Experience

Angela’s ADR capabilities run the gamut from resolution of domestic infringement cases to settlement of multinational commercial disputes including mediation, arbitration, fact-finding, discovery referee and special master. I am a member of the AAA/ICDR patent panel and routinely arbitrates large complex commercial cases as well as patent and/or license disputes. She also serves on the biotechnology panel for CPR and arbitrates security issues for FINRA. A few arbitrated cases include patent infringement case that involved whether pharmaceutical drugs were included in license agreement; license agreement involving whether later discovered/developed IT technology was within scope of the agreement; trade secret agreement breach involving healthcare IT technology; product development and consulting agreement involving whether biotechnology techniques were included in agreement; license agreement breach involving whether royalties were warranted in a biotechnology sublicense agreement.

Cases

Certified as a mediator and arbitrator, Angela has resolved and adjudicated over 500 disputes involving patent infringement/validity, licensing, commercial and business disputes, breach of contract and negligence actions, employment discrimination claims, trade secret theft, trademark and copyright infringement disputes.
