Registration is now open for the CPR Institute’s 2026 Annual Meeting, taking place February 11–13, 2026, at the Loews Coronado Bay Resort in San Diego, California. This flagship event convenes leading corporate counsel, law firm partners, academics, and distinguished neutrals for three days of forward-looking dialogue on the future of dispute resolution.
As part of the program, the College of Commercial Arbitrators will present an interactive panel, Corporate Counsel Vote!, designed to put real-world dispute resolution decision-making front and center. In this fast-paced session taking place from 9a -10:30a on Friday, February 13, 2026, attendees will weigh in—live—on some of the most consequential judgment calls corporate counsel face in mediation and arbitration.
Audience members will vote on questions such as whether mediation should be mandatory before arbitration costs accrue, whether arbitrators should more actively rein in discovery, when a sole arbitrator should be the default, and whether the same neutral should ever serve as both mediator and arbitrator. The panel will also explore whether arbitral provider appeals are an underutilized tool for promoting consistency, predictability, and fairness.
Following each vote, the panelists will break down what these choices really mean for cost, speed, leverage, risk management, and business outcomes—offering practical insights grounded in experience.
Panelists include:
- Gary Benton, Gary Benton Arbitration
- Bill Crosby, Senior Vice President & Associate General Counsel, Interpublic Group
- Todd C. Toral, Partner, Jenner & Block LLP
- Dana Welch, Welch ADR
The 2026 Annual Meeting will also feature a keynote address by Ann Chaplin, General Counsel & Corporate Secretary of Qualcomm, and seven dynamic panels offering CLE credit in all 50 states.
