Mr. Wax has been a neutral, for more than 15 years, in a great variety of national and international complex disputes, particularly in energy, construction, and general commercial arbitrations.

Experience

Over the last 15 years, Mr. Wax has arbitrated or mediated or been a neutral in nearly 100 disputes (ranging from $3 million to $1 billion) involving many industries in more than 25 states and in every region of the United States, both as a sole arbitrator or mediator and on tri-partite panels (including as chair), in the following industry segments energy (electric, gas, renewables, wind, nuclear, transmission, coal, and oil), construction, environmental, accounting and auditing; insurance, waste, defense, telecommunications, legal, and service industries. He is on numerous approved lists of national and international ADR providers.

Work History

Prior to Mr. Wax’s current ADR practice described above, from 1998 to 2003 he headed the energy practice in the Connecticut office of a large international law firm, advising clients on energy, corporate, regulatory, transactional, nuclear, environmental, and ADR matters.

Prior to 1998, he was Senior Vice President and General Counsel of Northeast Utilities (now Eversource Energy), New England’s largest combination electric and gas utility and one of the nation’s largest operators of nuclear generating facilities. There, he directed the legal, corporate governance, compliance, and insurance functions, managing 25 lawyers in three states.
