Have spent the past seven years as a mediator/arbitrator. Over 100. Arbitration preferred. Complex commercial cases a specialty but available in many other fields. Work as an expert witness, special master, mock trial and appellate judge.

Experience

I served for 22 years as a United States District Judge in the Southern District of New York. During those years I handled cases in all areas of federal civil practice and wrote 2,000 opinions. I am known as having expertise in e-discovery, class actions, civil rights and securities law - although I have written in all other fields. I also served from 1982-1986 as a Magistrate Judge in the Eastern District of New York. I did a good deal of settlement work at that time and served as the Special Master in the Agent Orange litigation. I have handled several MDLs including a long-running environmental case. Have now handled over 100 mediations/arbitrations.
